More encouraging news in terms of both deaths and new infections.
Average daily deaths (orange line) continues to fall — down more than 50% since the peak less than a month ago. New infections (blue line) also continue dropping.
Footnote: You’ll note the little spike three days ago… it reflects a change in the historical reporting for the state of Missouri, which reported about 50,000 new cases earlier this week in a single day — even though those tests were recorded over the past several weeks.Missouri’s new-case rate has been surprisingly small over the past few weeks. This change would seem to explain what was going on.
