International COVID Deaths

May 7, 2021 by jeffcard

WORLDWIDE FATALITIES

[May 7] Here’s a list of the 50 countries (out of 175 with population greater than 300,000) with the highest monthly COVID fatality rates — and the three-month trend for each.

A few things jump out:

  • Eastern Europe and South America are currently bearing the worst of it.
  • The percentage increase for some countries (Uruguay and Paraguay especially) are skyrocketing — and most at the top of this list have nearly doubled or worse
  • Just off of this list, countries like India, Mongolia, and the Philippines are experiencing a huge spike. Each will likely rise on this list within a a couple weeks.
  • The United States (#53, 59 per million) and Canada (#71, 34 per million) do not rank among this list of fifty countries
